Reception and Customer Service Training (ARCS)
This 21 week course will run again from mid 2019! It is designed to provide the on-the-job skills and experience required to work as a receptionist/office administrator or in Customer Service. A commitment of 8 hours per week will be required, this includes 3.5 hours on the job, 3 hours class work and 2 hours of homework. Students will be given a training manual and asked to complete a series of relevant tasks.
Learn about the online jobseeking world (MyGov, Centrelink, SEEK). Practice workplace communication. Writing your resume and addressing selection criteria. Practice interviews.

This course is designed for staff and volunteers with an interest in gaining and developing the skills needed to manage various events. The course will combine classroom-based training and practical hands-on experience, working on a number of community projects. Teacher, Rachel Edward, has worked in Arts based Event Management for 15 years and the course will include: Event mission and vision, Fundraising and sponsorship, Working with a budget, Risk Management assessment, Operational planning and event permits, Food handling, Marketing and promotion, Time management, teamwork and dealing with conflict in the workplace, Communication skills, Community engagement and event evaluation.
